I’ve had a Mac PowerBook G4 since the titanium versions came out in 2001, and now, I finally have a reason to upgrade. The MacBook Pro is a giant step for Apple with the switch to the Intel Core Duo processor. Who would have thought these two Silicon Valley stalwarts would ever have this partnership?

The proof appears to be in the pudding as the MacBook Pro is rated 4.5X faster than the fastest PowerBook G4. Combine that with a brighter display, built-in camera, better performing ATI graphics card, and faster front-side bus, and you will want to upgrade your old standby as well.

As for tried and true PC users, give me a break. Isn’t it time you finally made the switch?
